Kootenai National Forest
the Forest you don't see
the Forest you don't see
I have spent many days in the backwoods of Northwest Montana. When you are alone in the woods, you see things that you don't see when you have other people with you, dogs. One time I was sitting on a stump, filling out paperwork, and I guess I had sat there long enough for the critters to feel like it was quiet enough that they were safe. These two fine came out from the brush and started rearing up at each other and playing, additional round and round in a circle and up and down and it was so precious to watch them there in the new Spring Grove and being so new to this world. So beautiful and pure.
Once you are off the beaten path, the highways and byways, and really take a look at the plant life, trees, and the critters of the forest, you find a place in your cells that possibly you have forgotten or never knew existed. If you cannot find time to spend in the woods, I don't know how your soul, your spirit would ever be rejuvenated and inspired. I know living in Northwest Montana we sometimes take for granted all the beauty around us and we don't actually spend time in it and just focus the whole day on the beauty. We often time is focused on our job, children, family matters and all the lists of things we have to do. And we forget that June is the time to start planning trips into the mountains to fill our senses with sweet smells of the forest, beautiful nature scapes, rocky mountain peaks, moose, Bear, elk, chipmunk, squirrels, eagles, and the Great Red Tailed Hawk that calls out everyday I as make my way through the woodlands. Once you have know the "woods" intimately, it is than always your place to listen to what is really going on inside of you and time in the forest will help you focus on what is most important in your life.
